
Dr. Nimesh B. Patel is a Harvard-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma, hip preservation, and total joint reconstruction. He practices at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center in Golden, Colorado, where he serves as Chair of Surgery at OrthoColorado Hospital and as a member of the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee. From 2015 to 2024, Dr. Patel also served on the Board of Directors at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center, contributing to clinical strategy and physician leadership.
Dr. Patel specializes in treating complex fractures and hip preservation conditions, including pelvic and acetabular fractures, malunions, nonunions, and intra-articular fractures. His expertise extends to performing periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) and complex hip reconstructive surgery for patients with hip dysplasia, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), and other structural abnormalities. He also performs primary and revision hip and knee replacements, restoring mobility and improving quality of life for patients with degenerative joint conditions.
Practicing in Colorado, Dr. Patel frequently treats patients with injuries resulting from the state’s active lifestyle — including skiing, rock climbing, biking, and high-energy trauma. His advanced training allows him to manage traumatic injuries involving all areas of the musculoskeletal system, even those complicated by previous joint replacements or fractures.
Dr. Patel takes a personalized and comprehensive approach to care, recognizing that each patient’s goals are unique. “Each injury is like its own puzzle,” he explains. “The goal is to fit all the pieces together — to restore function, correct alignment, and help patients return to the activities they love.”
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Emory University, Dr. Patel completed his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, followed by a residency in orthopedic surgery at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. He then completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at Harvard Medical School’s Partners Orthopaedic Trauma Program in Boston.
Dr. Patel has published and presented research in the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Journal of Orthopaedics and has been recognized multiple times as a Top Doctor by 5280 Magazine for excellence in orthopedic surgery and patient care.

Dr. Ronald R. Hugate is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and nationally recognized leader in orthopedic oncology, hip preservation, complex joint reconstruction, and limb salvage. He practices at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center, where he is known for his innovative approach to treating rare and challenging conditions—including bone cancers, prosthetic reconstructions, and complex deformity corrections that few surgeons undertake.
Dr. Hugate’s expertise encompasses advanced surgical techniques in bone tumor resection, limb-saving reconstruction, and complex hip and joint preservation procedures. His background in mechanical engineering provides a deep understanding of biomechanics and implant design, which he applies to developing new solutions for patients requiring highly individualized orthopedic care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Hugate serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Denver and as clinical faculty at the Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His research focuses on osseous and bio-integrated implants, prosthetic innovation, and the biomechanics of limb salvage and reconstruction. He is the author of The Handbook of Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery and has published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Hugate is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, having deployed four times to combat hospitals in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has been honored twice with the Army Commendation Medal for his service and leadership. Beyond the military, he has participated in multiple medical mission trips, including to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, providing essential surgical care to underserved communities.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, Dr. Hugate earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Penn State University College of Medicine, followed by both an Ivins Research Fellowship and an Orthopaedic Oncology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where he was later appointed Instructor of Orthopedics.

Dr. Michael Ellman

Dr. Michael J. Ellman is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), labral tears, and sports-related hip and knee injuries. He practices at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center, where he serves as Director of the Hip Preservation Center and as part of the Denver-based sports medicine team.
Dr. Ellman brings unique experience treating athletes of all ages — from recreational to elite competitors — and currently serves as a consultant team physician for the United States Olympic Ski and Snowboard Teams. His surgical expertise focuses on minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures that address hip impingement, labral tears, and cartilage injuries, helping athletes return to their sport and active lifestyles safely and effectively.
As one of a select group of orthopedic surgeons in the U.S. with advanced training in hip preservation and sports medicine, Dr. Ellman combines innovation, research, and a patient-first approach. His work has been instrumental in refining arthroscopic techniques for the treatment of FAI — conditions that, until recently, were often misdiagnosed or left untreated.
Dr. Ellman completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he published over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters. His research earned him the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Baxter Healthcare Scholarship for outstanding contributions to the field of hip arthroscopy. He then completed a sports medicine and hip arthroscopy fellowship at the renowned Steadman Clinic and Steadman-Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado — training under internationally recognized leaders in orthopedic sports medicine.

Dr. Daniel Haber
Dr. Daniel Haber is a Harvard-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder, hip, and knee injuries. He practices at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center, where he provides advanced care for athletes and active individuals of all ages. Dr. Haber offers both surgical and non-surgical treatments tailored to each patient’s unique goals, focusing on minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures that promote faster recovery and long-term joint health.
Dr. Haber’s clinical expertise includes labrum and rotator cuff repairs, total shoulder replacement, ACL reconstruction, patellofemoral stabilization, cartilage restoration, meniscal preservation, and hip arthroscopy for labral tears and impingement. His approach combines state-of-the-art techniques with a personalized care philosophy—prioritizing conservative treatment whenever possible and employing surgical solutions only when necessary to restore optimal performance and function.
Dr. Haber serves as a team physician for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Ski and Snowboard Teams and for the University of Denver men’s and women’s soccer teams. He has also cared for athletes across professional leagues including the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, and MLS, and continues to advance sports medicine techniques that help patients return safely to their active lifestyles.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, where he earned his degree summa cum laude, Dr. Haber completed his medical degree at Dartmouth Medical School, where he was inducted into the Mosenthal Surgical Honor Society and received the Freddy H. Fu Outstanding Medical Student in Orthopaedics Award. He then completed the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program, training across world-class institutions including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
Following residency, Dr. Haber completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado. There, he refined his expertise in arthroscopic and open shoulder, hip, and knee surgery and received the Best Basic Science Research Award for his contributions to orthopedic innovation.
Dr. Haber has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, authored textbook chapters, developed new surgical techniques, and presented his research at national and international orthopedic conferences. Dr. Aaron Casp

Dr. Aaron Casp is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in advanced hip preservation, sports medicine, and arthroscopic surgery. He practices at Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center, where he provides comprehensive care for patients with hip, shoulder, and knee injuries—from elite athletes to active adults and weekend warriors.
Dr. Casp’s clinical expertise includes hip arthroscopy, labral repair, periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), ligament reconstruction, ACL repair, and shoulder replacement. His focus on hip preservation allows patients to maintain their natural joint and delay or prevent the need for total hip replacement. He is dedicated to restoring function, relieving pain, and helping each patient return to the activities they love with improved strength and mobility.
A passionate advocate for collaborative, patient-centered care, Dr. Casp believes that great outcomes begin with listening. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, where he competed as a collegiate wrestler—an experience that shaped his dedication to performance, recovery, and resilience.
